Caroline Muscat

Caroline is the co-founder of East to West Communications. She has over 15 years of experience working in the communications’ sector.

Throughout her career, she has been involved in developing and implementing educational and promotional campaigns targeting diverse market segments, preparing collateral material (print, broadcast and online) from concept to completion, editing publications, organising events to raise public awareness, and managing the communications departments for various international organisations, including Greenpeace International’s regional office in the Mediterranean and Middle East.

Caroline graduated with distinction from the University of Leicester with a Masters degree in Media & Globalisation. She also holds a diploma in journalism from the Press Association (UK). Caroline held the role of Assistant Editor of The Sunday Times of Malta until her resignation in May 2010, and remains a regular contributor to major newspapers and publications in Malta and overseas. Her writing is also published on her blog, MyVoice. She was awarded the European Commission’s national prize for journalism against discrimination for two consecutive years, in 2010 and 2011.

Tolga Temuge

Tolga is the Managing Director of East to West Communications. He holds a degree in Business Administration from Marmara University in Istanbul and worked in international trade for several years.

He is the co-founder of Greenpeace in Turkey, and led Greenpeace Mediterranean’s regional campaigns on a variety of issues including waste management, climate change and nuclear power in the Mediterranean and Middle East. Tolga developed campaign and communications strategies for a number of international organisations working on human rights, peace and nature conservation. He worked closely with international media outlets as spokesperson for several international organisations.

Tolga also has a wealth of experience developing and managing EU projects for businesses and third sector clients as well as writing grant applications for foundations in Europe. He was the Executive Director of BirdLife Malta between 2006 and 2010.

He successfully secured funds from the EU LIFE+ funding stream for three projects in Malta.

Nicholas Crockford

Nicholas has over nine years of experience in project development and management. After graduating with an MBA, Nicholas led the first eco-label project for hotels in Malta, as well as wrote proposals for, and conducted economic assessments of, national tourism development projects while working as projects officer and manager with the Malta Tourism Authority’s product planning and development unit.

In 2007, Nicholas joined BirdLife Malta’s senior management team and was responsible for managing the fundraising department. His work on accessing grants from the European Commission, government sources, international foundations and companies enabled the organisation to develop, implement new projects and increase its human resources capacity.

Nicholas has knowledge and experience in various EU funding programmes including EU LIFE+, EVS, ENPI, ERDF and FP7 as well as several international foundations, corporations and government grants. He is based in Berlin.

Jane Devitt

Jane has a wealth of experience working for companies and charities, and has occupied various roles in the senior management team of the RSPB – the UK’s largest nature conservation organisation.

She has been working on developing and running EU LIFE projects since 1999 and been centrally involved with nine successful projects in different countries. She was an advisor on a further eight projects in the same period across Europe. These projects involved co-ordination between the third sector, the private sector and government agencies.

Jane is an experienced line and project manager in various aspects of organisational and financial management. She coaches organisations and government agencies on the opportunities and challenges offered by funding sources, and also offers training on other aspects of organisational, business and financial management needed for the successful implementation of projects. Jane is based in the UK.

Ercan Bizsel

Ercan has a degree in Business Administration and has been working in the IT sector since 1992. His expertise has delivered solutions for major multinational corporations including IBM, HP, Symantec, HSBC, ING Bank, Toyota and Vodafone.

He is the pioneer of online training seminars in Turkey – he started in 2005 and has delivered hundreds since then. Ercan has also successfully implemented localization projects for different software, including Acronis backup and recovery products, BitDefender antivirus products, and GFI messaging and security products.

He has extensive knowledge of internet, e-business and social media tools from the development stage through to marketing cycles. He specialises in bringing together code and artwork for maximum results. He is an expert on CMS, e-commerce websites and iPhone application development. Ercan is based in Istanbul.
